Hot Showness

The Taxpayers are triumphantly returning in November and have a bunch of awesome shows lined up for ya. Lots of new material, lots of awesome.

November 5th - The Hail Seizures (OLY) are back. This is the last stop on their tour. Every time we have played together, the show has rocked pants.

November 8th - The So So Glos (Brooklyn). They rocked Portland's pants off in Rob's garage last year.

November 16th - The Gadabout Traveling Film Fest w/ Halo Fauna (Buffalo). A celebration of DIY Film and Culture. I've been stoked for this show for months.

Here is a flier to munch on:

show hiatus

Rob had a bit of an incident on his bicycle. A car cut him off and he wrecked his bike, breaking his wrist/hand/thingy. Sadly to say, we are not going to be playing shows for a month or so, till Rob's grabbything fixes it damn self. We do have some very excellent shows lined up for November. We will be playing with our good friends, The Hail Seizures (OLY) and the ever so awesome The So So Glos (NYC). Another couple fuckin great shows are in the mix too, will list once things solidify.

New Album

We are about to wrap up our next album after a few more auxiliary instrument tracks and we could not be more excited. The name of the next release will (should) be: "A Rhythm In The Cages". The album was once again recorded by Michael Love in Nate's living room, this time with more flare. :) It should be finished soon, not really sure when the release will be... but some tracks probably will be available to hear soon.

We hope you like it.

Live @ Brainstains Available for Free Download

Finally, live material on the net! Horrah.

This is a concert that our friends in The Hand That Bleeds recorded for us last year at Brainstains (September 22, 2007). I remember it being a pretty fun show. A bit sloppy at times, but a fun concert nonetheless. In this download are two songs that are not available on a cd (sorta ;) "Against The Law" and "Methamphetamines and Mysteries". As well as an awesome fuckin joke.

Here is the link.

We hope you like it.

Portland Zine Symposium

Hey punx.

Next weekend (August 23 and 24), the 8th Annual Portland Zine Symposium will be happening at Portland State University in the Smith Memorial Ballroom. This one of the biggest Zine events, period. It should be a shit ton of fun and you will most likely learn a lot of new things. Heres a link.

Even better, The Taxpayers will be playing an acoustic set for the wrap up party at The Red & Black Cafe. Also playing: Please Step Out of The Vehicle, Wooden Indian Burial Ground, and Letters. We have never played with any of these bands... so we're pretty stoked. They all happen to kick royal ass, too. The show starts at 6pm. Its also FREE (at least we sure hope it is).
